My response to the Peachtober 2021 one-word prompt ‘thunder’. I started with the concept of thundering hooves - but later ended up bringing in a thunderstorm too. I really enjoy combining visual and written storytelling - something about the play of pictures and words has always appealed to me - so I wrote a line of text to accompany the illustration that hints at a wider narrative:

“and so, they ran with the storm, rather than against it”.
